Who are we?
Women in Healthcare UK (WiH UK) is a platform for female healthcare professionals that aims to provide networking opportunities, professional and social support and space to share and grow ideas, all while raising a progressive profile of the industry.
When were we formed?
We were founded in 2016 by Angie Khupe, an experienced business and management consultant who has worked for both the NHS and Department of Health, and noticed discrepancies between the support and help on offer to women within the Healthcare sector and the support provided for their male counterparts. Angie, as a mother herself, also took into account that women within the Healthcare sector were often still running their homes as wives and mothers alongside their demanding professions and therefore needed a more specific and complex level of support.
What do we do?
After addressing the complex needs of Women in the Healthcare sector, WiH-UK became a community network created by women for women. Our key objective is to not only equip women the knowledge and resources needed to succeed, but also instil confidence into each of our members so that they can not only lead, but succeed. We not only appreciate that each woman and her needs differ from the next, we also appreciate the fact that each healthcare profession comes with its own distinct challenges and obstacles, challenges and obstacles that our support and guidance can help you overcome.
